Coaching Approach

Coaching Approach

My Personal Profile

I am a wife and mother of two teenagers and having moved 13 times domestically and internationally for my husband’s career, I’ve got pretty comfortable with change!

I’ve always had a genuine curiousity about people and a passion for playing a part in their own growth and development.  It is no surprise that I eventually found my way to coaching as a career.

I’m committed to my health (a frequent gym goer and trail runner), my learning (love a great podcast while I’m running), philanthropy and volunteering, my community and my friends and family (cavoodle included!).

How I Work with You

If you catch yourself thinking “Is this it? Is this as good as it is going to get?” then contact me. You are capable of doing, being and having more but you’re just not quite sure where to start…I will support you in making the changes you want and need to make so that everyday you are excited to get out of bed and start the day!

Our partnership begins with an conversation about your understanding of coaching and what you hope to achieve. After an initial conversation about  whether coaching with me is the right best step, we work together on establishing your goals.

Knowing how to set the right goals is critical because everything flows from here.  The goals may change but but the starting point (and the work that goes into this) is pivotal.

From here the journey takes off!

Either 1:1 or small groups, we work together to turn your hopes and dreams into the real deal.

A range of tools and diagnostic assessments may be used during the coaching program. Whilst I am accredited in MSCEIT (an emotional intelligence assessment) & StrengthsProfile, I have access to a range of other assessments depending on the context and needs. Tools and frameworks for goal setting such as SMART(ER) or PACER may be used and models for structuring the conversations

Successful coaching requires an active, collaborative approach between client and coach. Whilst the coach acts as a facilitator of change, it is the client’s responsibility to enact or bring about that change. This means coming to sessions willing to participate in the process by being reflective and introspective. It means completing ‘homework’ and dedicating the time to effectively engage in the process.

My clients know that I will create a place to ask thought provoking questions, where there is no judgment and that support is fundamental. I will be at every session prepared and completely focused on them. My role is not to provide the answers or solutions but rather to facilitate the client’s own discovery of these things.

My approach to coaching is based on the International Coaching Federation’s (ICF) core competencies which reflect a range of fundamental mindsets and behaviours.  The ICF defines coaching as “partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.”  In addition, I bring a solutions focused approach to my style which means I am focused on my clients’ strengths and what they want their future to look like. .

As a member of the ICF, I abide by their code of ethics which provides guidelines, accountability and standards of conduct.

To start designing your future and the life you want, please contact me for a no obligation conversation about your goals.
